Fort Membership

You are invited to join the effort to rebuild historic Fort de la Présentation which played a vital role in the formation of a Great Nation.

France, England and the United States garrisoned the Fort in turn for more than seven decades and three wars; the French and Indian War, the American Revolution and the War of 1812.

Fort de la Présentation was an important post in the French struggle to control North America. La Présentation’s history was brief, 1749-1759. The British took over the Fort in 1759 and held it under the name Fort Oswegatchie until 1796. With American control asserted, Fort Presentation became the new name.

Fort de la Présentation should stand again as a symbol of the United States of America’s deep historical roots and growth into a Great Nation. Become a member of the Fort  La Présentation Association and show your pride in our remarkable heritage.
